About us 

Over the last 20 years, Mrs Metselaar has specialized in asylum and immigration law. She advises on applications for (complex) residence permits and acts in proceedings against the Immigration and Naturalization Service  (“Immigratie en Naturalisatie Dienst”, IND) and other government bodies, such as the COA (“Centraal Opvang Asielzoekers”, Central Agency for the Reception of Asylum Seekers) or UWV (“Uitvoeringsinstituut Werknemersverzekeringen”, Institute for Employee Insurance,). She offers legal assistance to both private and business clients.

Mrs Metselaar is a member of the Working Group on Legal Aid for Refugees (“Werkgroep Rechtshulp aan vluchtelingen”), Specialists Association of Migration Lawyers (SVMA), Association of Asylum Attorneys and Lawyers Netherlands (VAJN) and European Legal Network on Asylum (ELENA network).

She was previously a lawyer in Amsterdam and Alkmaar and a legal assistant at the Amsterdam District Court in the sectors of Aliens Law and Criminal Law. Mrs Metselaar studied at the University of Groningen.

Mr D.G. Metselaar has registered the following principal (and secondary) legal practice areas in the Netherlands Bar’s register of legal practice areas (rechtsgebiedenregister): –
– asylum law
– immigration law
– immigration detention

Based on this registration, she is required to obtain ten training credits per calendar year in each registered principal legal practice area in accordance with the standards set by the Netherlands Bar.

Working method

In an intake interview we determine how we can assist you. This intake interview is free.

Depending on your income level  and the kind of case, you may be eligible for subsidized legal aid, funded by the Dutch government. You can find more information on the website of the Legal Aid Board (www.rvr.org).

If you do not qualify for subsidized legal aid, you will be charged at an hourly rate. A fixed price agreement is also possible.
